In late December 2025, Ho Chi Minh City took a major step forward in strengthening its cybersecurity preparedness with the “Practical Training on Cybersecurity to Ensure Network Information Security in Ho Chi Minh City 2025”.
Chaired by the Ho Chi Minh City Police in partnership with Quang Trung Software City (QTSC), this five-day event ran from December 22 to December 26, 2025, and brought together law enforcement, government agencies, technical experts, and private sector cybersecurity professionals to address ever-increasing cyber threats.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Colonel Bui Thanh Truc, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Police, stated that this year’s Cybersecurity training focused on the Information Reception and Response Portal for citizens, businesses, and organizations in Ho Chi Minh City.

Training on Cybersecurity to Ensure Network Information Security
Against the backdrop of rapidly escalating cyberattacks across Vietnam in 2025 – including over half a million DDoS attacks and significant volumes of leaked data – the program went beyond conventional training. It delivered a highly realistic, hands-on environment, exposing participants to real-world attack techniques such as automated intrusion campaigns, deepfake-enabled fraud, and advanced malware.
The event engaged 40 experienced cybersecurity experts and engineers operating in both Red Team and Blue Team roles. While the Red Teams simulated sophisticated attack scenarios to identify and exploit system vulnerabilities, the Blue Teams maintained continuous monitoring, issued timely alerts, and coordinated rapid responses to ensure system stability.
This two-sided approach provided a clear assessment of the city’s multi-layered cybersecurity defense model, demonstrating improved response capabilities while also identifying areas requiring further enhancement.
Overall, the exercise underscored several key takeaways: the critical importance of cross-sector collaboration, the need for continuous capacity building for cybersecurity personnel, and the growing role of advanced, future-ready security solutions in strengthening data resilience across urban digital infrastructure.
